SpiSouLi Manor – SPIRIT. SOUL. LIGHT.
Audi Snÿman Interior Architecture and Design was briefed to curate a luxurious and modern interior for the salubrious SpiSouLi Manor. The home owners expressed the desire for the inner spaces of their family home to be tastefully yet vibrantly colourful.
SpiSouLi Manor’s soul finds voice through the many signature pieces skilfully placed in almost every room – from a statement-making baby grand piano, through to art pieces painted or created by leading local South African artists. These showstoppers include custom steel sculptures and hand blown glass – all designed and built to fit specific spaces throughout the twostorey mansion.
The spirit of the harmonious home is relaxed, elevated comfort and functionality, with touches of sophisticated playfulness adding an element of surprise. The theme of unique, custom-made art continues to delight throughout the home.
The magical lighting hints at the spirit and soul contained within the light and reflective spaces of the house. A spiralled walk around the breathtaking, over six metre long chandelier made from repurposed glass reveals a statement-making TV lounge: a well-coordinated kaleidoscope of exclusive, bold, plush and deliciously comfortable furniture pieces.
While shades of grey and natural wood run through all the bedrooms, each of the children’s rooms interiors were created in close consultation with them, to make sure that the space feels like their own. Monotones are lifted by a splash of colour or pattern that draws the eye, or by beautiful commissioned artwork that adorns the walls.
The master bedroom offers rolling views and is flooded by natural light that is absorbed and refracted by the one-of-a-kind glass receptacles and pendant lights that add a deep warmth to a multi-textile space. The theme of glass and wood continues within the spacious walk in closet, alongside the main bathroom that incorporates stylish wood and eclectic black faucets.
Like many of the rooms in the home, the minimalist outside study has walls adorned by luxurious, soft-to-the-touch wall paper with superior soft rugs underfoot. The downstair study’s stately leather armchairs, interiors and accessories combine old-world with contemporary style and comfort.
